Spring MVC Hibernate JUnit Test failed Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect

I've got strange problem: during developing Spring MVC app I've properly configured hibernate and can make different CRUD operations. But then I try write little JUnit test for checking correctness of queries and got confusing situation:

Database is accessible, hibernate files configured properly. Any suggestions? thanks

Assuming you have a build configured using some command line tool like Maven or Ant, try to issue a clean command using that command line tool (e.g., mvn clean) and then refresh the project in Eclipse also before running the test in Eclipse. See this thread. You might also check to see if you can run the test via the command line tool (e.g., mvn test). Good luck--you will get it!

Spring seems to be trying to fetch an XML DTD (to validate the XML). Do any of your XML config files (Spring, Hibernate, ...) refer to a DTD through a HTTP URL? If so, try and fetch that DTD manually (with e.g. your web browser) to see if you can connect to the URL. If not, then that's your problem.
